SUMMARY:

The CAD Designer II provides Computer Aided Design (CAD) drafting and detailing to develop and/or modify construction drawings, site plans and tower profiles. All drafting production work helps to support telecommunications collocation of raw land and first time installation activities, among others.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

· Create or modify construction drawings, mount and tower profiles, as well as site plan collocation drawings for telecommunication projects.

· Optimize AutoCAD use to achieve high accuracy and efficiency.

· Follow drafting and engineering design standards and suggest improvements, as applicable.

· Coordinate CAD drafting services with administrative staff to ensure all work is completed and submitted for billing on a timely basis.

· Perform detailed QA/QC of drawings as directed by AE Services Manager.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· None

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Basic knowledge of wireless telecommunications compounds and tower types is preferred.

· Proficient in computer software programs, including AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.

· Strong organizational skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast paced environment.

· Self-motivated, able to work both independently to complete tasks and respond to department requests as well as collaborating with others to utilize resources and knowledge in identifying high quality solutions.

. Desire to continuously learn and develop within role.

. Assist with the following, but not limited to: creating templates for internal use, developing CAD standards, as well as aid in identifying blocks to improve project efficiency and productivity.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

· Associate degree in a drafting related field - Civil Drafting preferred

· Minimum of 1 years experience in the telecommunications industry

· Minimum of 3-5 years experience with AutoCAD, 2010 or higher

· Previous experience in A&E and Construction Drawings - Preferred

ADDITIONAL:

Working Schedule Expectations:

8 hour shifts - Monday-Friday.

Completing 40 hours per week is a minimum requirement of the position, with overtime being expected during peak work-load times. The CAD Designer II must be flexible with potential overtime requirements, as there may be workweeks that require more than 40 hours to ensure the position's expectations and responsibilities are met.
