Venice Family Clinic is a leader in providing comprehensive, high-quality primary health care to people in need with compassion, dignity and respect. In November 2021, Venice Family Clinic merged with South Bay Family Health Care, uniting more than a century of experience helping patients regardless of their income, insurance or immigration status. The organization now has more than 500 staff who serve 45,000 people from the Santa Monica Mountains through the South Bay. Under the general supervision of the call center manager, the Call Center Representative will perform a full range of call center duties, including:

  • Serve as the initial point of contact for our callers and provide prompt and courteous telephone assistance.
  • Answer, screen and triage a high volume of incoming calls, verify eligibility, and schedule for multiple services across Venice Family Clinic.
  • Manage and respond to incoming messages from the patient portal.
  • Contact patients to offer follow up appointments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Salary range: $23.49-$33.34 Hourly

Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum of two years of experience in a call center or in a medical setting that includes patient registration, appointment scheduling or health insurance enrollment or equivalent education/experience.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills
  • Oral communication skills to receive and convey information clearly and concisely
  • Good interpersonal skills to interact effectively with callers and staff
  • Ability to type with speed and accuracy 45+ wpm
  • Ability to verify insurance coverage via the internet in appropriate websites
  • Ability to multi-task, set priorities, and organize workload to optimize efficiency

Preferred:

  • Working knowledge of NextGen System
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Knowledge of major medical insurance plans, and Managed Care Plans through Medi-Cal and Covered California
