Pay Scale: $35.12 - $50.92

Shift: Monday - Friday 9am - 5:30pm

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Heart Center Supervisor, the Cardiac Sonographer is responsible for the performance of the echocardiographic/doppler examinations of the heart which are used for the diagnosis of cardiovascular disease. Additionally, the Cardiac Sonographer assists with stress tests, EKG’s and holter monitor application.

Essential Duties:

• Performs non-invasive tasks including two-dimensional and M-mode echocardiography with color flow Doppler (adult and pediatric), in a timely manner, providing high quality images for presentation to the Cardiologist for interpretation.
• Performs pulsed and continuous wave echo Doppler
• Takes accurate measurements and calculations of the echo/doppler recordings.
• Performs stress echoes, including pharmacological studies.
• Sets up and assists with transesophageal echocardiograms.
• Performs digital archival and retrieval of studies.
• Performs Bi-V optimization studies with pacemaker representative and Physician.
• Injects echo contrast agents and acquires corresponding contrast images.
• Completes all required paperwork in a timely and accurate manner. Assure all fields are complete including but
• not limited to time out reporting in accordance with department and JCAHO safety standards.
• Provides for patient safety and comfort during procedures and coordinates workflow to efficiently accomplish quality
• patient care.

Qualifications

License/Certification:

• Current licensure by the Oregon Board of Medical Imaging as a Sonographer required.
• Must be registered by ARDMS or CCI within six (6) months of hire.
• Must have BLS within 30 days of hire and ACLS within the one (1) year of hire.

Experience:

• Six (6) months of echocardiography experience is preferred.
• Advanced computer skills required.

Education:

• Graduate from an accredited cardiovascular school required.
