Caregiver Job Description

To succeed as a caregiver you should be patient, empathetic and have strong people’s skills. You should be observant and committed to making your client feel safe and comfortable.

CAREGIVER’S RESPONSIBILITIES:

→ Assisting with person cares, which may include bathroom functions, bathing, grooming, dressing and eating

→ Following a care plan, which may include assisting with exercise and medication reminders

→ Ensuring the client’s home is organized according to their needs and that safety measures are in place

→ You may also be expected to assist with some LIGHT house keeping such as: sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting (around Knick knacks) Bathroom (toilet, sink, shower/tub, mopping, sweeping) Bedroom

→ You may also be expected to assist with laundry: stripping their bed and making their bed and doing their personal laundry and folding and putting it away.

→ Provide emotional support and encouragement to perform necessary tasks

→ Providing mobility assist may be requested, for ex. Helping the client in and out of bed, a chair, or wheelchair

→ Transporting or escorting

→ Monitoring and reporting changes in health, behaviors and needs to management right away

CAREGIVER REQUIREMENTS:

→ Preferred experience but Not Required

→ A Valid driver’s license is REQUIRED

→ Your OWN vehicle REQUIRED

→ A willingness to work FLEXIBLE hours, which may include short shifts, mornings, evenings, nights

→ Working EVERY OTHER WEEKEND REQUIRED

→ To have a positive Attitude

Pay: $15.50 - $16.50 per hour

Schedule:

• Evening shift
• Night shift
• Overnight shift
• Weekend availability
• Weekends only

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Mandan, ND: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

• Caregiving: 1 year (Preferred)
• Childcare: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Driver's License (Preferred)
