SUMMARY
The Case Manager II will assist applicants for Special Immigrant Visas.
*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*
**

  • Identify individuals in need of an exception to current policy and coordinate with colleagues in the field at Embassies and Consulates
  • Review case exception requests and compile case notes and background information
  • Work with HHS and local agencies on family reunification cases, determining where family members are, confirming family relationships and identifying steps for family reunification
  • Review recommendations for action due to acute medical issues and coordinate with appropriate CARE team members and others in the interagency to determine next steps and coordinate travel logistics
  • Draft recommendation memos for individual cases
  • Communicate with family members (as necessary), and serve as an advocate in the process of reviewing cases
  • Manage correspondence with interested parties, under privacy act laws.
  • This work may be performed remotely under the supervision of a US Direct Hire employee and in close coordination with the staff of the Third Country Operations Unit.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • At least one year experience working in an embassy or consulate

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Requires SECRET Security Clearance
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office suite)
  • English language (written and spoken) communications skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, coordinate activities and work well in a multi-cultural team environment.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently to assess priorities and manage daily coordination of details with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background investigation and drug screen.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
A climate-controlled office environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $89,000.00 per year
