Muddy Dog Market & Grill is a convenience store and restaurant opening soon in Unionville, IA. We are seeking cashiers for our targeted opening date in January 2023. Seeking dependable, trustworthy and hard-working employees. Joining our team during our launch season is an exciting opportunity as we bring needed services to our community.

We are looking for exceptional customer service skills. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced environment, be a creative problem-solver, and can work well with others in a stressful and energetic environment.

Cashiers are responsible to anticipate the customer's needs and provide an exceptional experience while ensuring accurate and quick service.

Responsibilities:

• Provides a positive customer experience with fair, friendly, and courteous service.
• Rings sales on a cash register by scanning items, itemizing, and totaling customer purchases.
• Manages transactions ensuring pricing is accurate.
• Resolves customer issues and answers questions.
• Cross-sells/Up-sells products and introduce new ones.
• Greet customers when entering and leaving.
• Bags purchases if needed.
• Processes return transactions.
• Itemizes and totals purchases by recording prices, categories, taxable and nontaxable items.
• Enters price changes by referring to price sheets and special sale bulletins.
• Discounts purchases by redeeming coupons or loyalty programs.
• Collects payments by accepting cash, charge payments, or gift cards from customers and makes change for customers
• Verifies identification for purchases related to regulations such as tobacco products or alcohol.
• Balances cash drawer by counting cash at the beginning and end of work shift.
• Provides pricing information by answering customer questions.
• Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $11.00 - $12.00 per hour
