The Position

The role of the Category Manager is to own product categories and wake up each day strategizing how to drive more business for these products. This role is part of the larger Product Merchandising team who oversees the full lifecycle of all products.

The Category Manager will be responsible for end to end category management - from identifying what products will resonate with our customers to ensuring successful launch of new products. You will work with cross-departmental partners daily to ensure each product is hitting sales targets. A successful candidate will have experience in category management processes, lead with a customer first mindset and make data driven decisions. This role will be responsible for managing and developing others. Experience in wallpaper, home decor, and textiles preferred.

Primary responsibilities

  • Establish multi-year physical product assortment strategies, while identifying growth opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain seasonal assortment line plans inclusive of all required product data.
  • Own assortment and pricing strategies on Spoonflower.com and 3PM’s.
  • Understand product margins and impact of internal and external manufacturing. Partner with teams meet margin, quality, and turn time goals. Identify areas for cost savings.
  • Drive Category Management timelines and calendar. Drive merchandising campaigns and GTM deliverables with cross functional teams.
  • Project and measure category sales and KPI’s. Regularly share category performance with cross-department groups to align on opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Own customer insights for the respective category and develop a strategy for ensuring we are meeting the expectations of our various customer segments. Engage focus groups as needed to meet category and product direction.
  • Work closely with merchandising and product development teams to bring new products to our customers.

Hiring Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (BS, BA) preferred
  • 3+ years category management experience
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong project management skills
  • Outstanding organization
  • Exhibits a bias towards action
  • Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment and manage competing demands
  • Articulate, concise and professional written and verbal communications
  • Entrepreneurial with the understanding of true ownership of a business or category - ability to think quick and make pivots based on an evolving story
