Function:

Chiefly responsible for maintaining efficient flow of inventory through the process of creating and generating reports to analyze sales, inventory, delays and purchase orders to make the proper buying decisions.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Retail Merchandising preferred. Must have at least five years’ experience in merchandising management experience, strong computer skills, ability to multitask, be organized and detail-oriented with good management of time.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for meeting company sales budgets for each managed category.

Responsible for re-buying all designated categories to ensure stocked levels to budget and projected sales and responsible for ensuring only necessary product is ordered.

Responsible for buying to maximize company savings and inventory turns by ordering containers and filling backordered product domestically for customers as needed.

Responsible for meeting the company’s inventory efficiency goals.

Manages assortment plan for category, new product purchase order entry and product discontinuation process.

Manages Replenishment for all designated categories. Responsible for all showroom purchase orders arriving on time with updated and acknowledged ETAs.

Creates and maintains all price tags and packages for new and existing product and is responsible for accuracy of information on all SKUs, packages and tags.

Monitors, reports and communicates all product delays and out of stocks to the Merchandising Department, Order Management and the stores.

Generates and analyzes sales and inventory reports for proper buying and product analysis.

Partners with Manager to set pricing for merchandise and review cost changes from vendors.

Responsible for monitoring the quality of product purchased and recommending any necessary changes to the lineup.

Responsible for managing aging and despised merchandise in warehouses.

Responsible for managing margin by category.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills and the ability to communicate and influence at all levels within the organization.

Strong analytical skills as well as organizational skills.

Solid project management capabilities with the ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously from origin through execution.
