the girl & the fig CATERS! in Sonoma is currently seeking an experienced Catering Chef to join our team.

We are a restaurant group with multiple locations in the Sonoma Valley, which includes the girl & the fig in Sonoma, the fig cafe in Glen Ellen, the girl & the fig CATERS!, Suite D, and our FIGfood product line. We strive to use the best in local, sustainable food, and we continually develop many in-house programs to promote those ideals. Chef provides excellent quality, consistency, and presentation of all food prepared for guests for all Catering functions as well as overseeing the production of daily food deliveries, food preparation, and restaurant production. Chef is responsible for operations, including management of staff, safety procedures, ordering, meeting companys financial goals, facilities maintenance, and continual staff training.

A Typical Day for Chef Includes...

• Performing a wide range of cooking techniques and overseeing proper food handling
• Minimizing food wastage and correcting any deficiencies in quality or consistency
• Maintenance of kitchen facilities and cleanliness
• Management, scheduling, and training of staff
• Ensuring safety procedures are in place and adhered to
• Ordering and menu planning

This Job Requires...

• Ability to provide or complete Manager Food Handler Certification and renew as necessary
• A valid California drivers license and clearance as an insured company driver based on a clean driving record
• A minimum of 2 years Line Cook experience, 2 years Sous Chef experience, and 1 year as a Catering Chef
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, recipe books, and procedural manuals
• Ability to put together reports, food audits, and accurate labor and food cost numbers
• Computer literacy and proficiency in Excel and Word

Physical Demands...

• Ability to lift up to 50lbs and regularly move items between 10-20lbs
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Proper knife handling skills and techniques
• An acute sense of taste and smell

Job Details...

• This is a full-time, management position
• Annual salary range for this position is $78,670.00 to $118,000.00
• Starting salary is dependent on experience and qualifications
