Job Summary

Battelle is currently seeking a Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Supply/Warehouse Technician. This is a full-time position located in Indian Head, MD.

The selected candidate will work as part of a team providing warehouse logistics and equipment maintenance support to the USMC Marine Forces Command Chemical Biological Incident Response Force (CBIRF). The candidate will apply job skills, policies, and procedures to complete a variety of tasks. This is an Intermediate level CBRN supply/warehouse position assigned to perform activities related to material requisition, procurement support, material receiving, inventory management (to include lot number and shelf-life tracking), equipment distribution, and warehouse operations. Responsible for a safe, efficient and organized inventory management, material processing and warehouse operations with a focus on the adherence to US Government policies and local practices.

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine unloading, sorting and stocking of materials.
  • Provides customer service representation at equipment issue point during normal Government working hours; and via telephone or email during Government non-working hours, on a 24-hour per day, seven day a week basis as required.
  • Documents procurement status, supply/spare part transactions, inventory status, and items sent to vendors within the approved Logistics Information System (LIS).
  • Ensures minimum stockage levels of required repair parts and consumables; procures and stocks materials when required and manages inventory within the CBRN Warehouse.
  • Coordinates equipment shipments to vendors for repair and to other locations (CONUS and OCONUS) as required to support CBIRF operational activities.
  • Complies with host facility regulations relevant to safety and environmental issues.
  • Performs inventory cycle counts and inventory counts.
  • Prepares products for shipping and performs shipping of products to clients.
  • Coordinates with CBIRF Supply on the receiving and shipping of materials.
  • Handles supply inventory and tracking of accountable receipts and shipments with storage or additional handling requirements.

Key Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years of related experience in the CBRN Logistics and Supply field.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Good computer skills including MS Windows and Office.
  • Ability to learn and use online material tracking tools.
  • Ability to follow business processes, provide guidance to less experienced personnel and operate with general direction from more senior employees.
  • Operating knowledge of material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet movers, and various sized trucks.
  • Ability to work overtime with 24 hours’ notice.
  • US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain required government security clearance(s).
  • May require knowledge and certification of air and ground transportation regulations, hazardous materials, and radioactive safety procedures.
  • General knowledge of CBRN personal protective and response equipment with related experience in the CBRN field.
  • Knowledge of military/DoD logistics operations (supply, maintenance and distribution).
  • Ability to work in a team environment and independently.
  • Ability to continuously bend, lift, and transport up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and walk up to 50% of the work shift.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prefer experience working in a military logistics or defense contractor environment.
  • Experience performing analysis of supply and inventory data.
