The Dietary Assistant performs a variety of duties, including cash register, in the Food Service department in accordance with established policies and procedures.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. High school graduate or equivalent.

1. Serves meals/nourishments to patients, visitors, and hospital staff.
2. Prepares and portions a variety of foods.
3. Sets up food stations. Demonstrates ability to follow production sheets.
4. Determines amount of supplies needed for assigned area and maintain established stock level.
5. Cleans a variety of facilities, equipment, and materials. Follows assigned cleaning schedules.
6. Cash handling procedures are followed.
7. Assists in other areas as needed.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Ability to be scheduled for work based on operational needs of the Department and Service Line hired.
2. Possess the ability to deal tactfully and harmoniously with patients, visitors and staff.
3. Ability to read menus, production sheets, basic reports, write customer orders, and required paperwork, along with basic math skilled needed to work with weights and measures and handling money.
