POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for morning Home to School and/or afternoon School to Home daily route driving and driving for field trips and sports trips.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
- Drive school buses for route, sports and field trips as needed. Weekend athletic trips will occasionally be required
- DOT Pre and post trip inspections of vehicle
- Minor repairs, light bulb replacement
- Clean and fuel Facilities vehicles and buses as needed
- Assist with cleaning including body fluid spills
- Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must have clean driving record.
- CDL with P & S Endorsements
- Must have ability to communicate effectively both orally and written
- Maintain professional appearance at all times.
- Should be able to make independent and good judgment decisions within proper policy and procedures.
- Willingness to work overtime if needed.
- Must be physically able to perform the duties required for this position.
- Willingness to submit to fingerprinting, a background check, and drug and alcohol testing consistent with employee handbook and work rules.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed inside and outside the vehicle with exposure to inclement weather and unpredictable crisis situations. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must stand, walk, or drive for most of the shift. Occasional climbing, crawling, bending and stooping are required. The employee is expected to lift up to 50 lbs.
