Holcim Whitehall Cement Plant has immediate openings for Cement Technicians/Laborers.

The primary function of the Cement Technician position is to safely and efficiently maintain the required supply of tires on the kiln tire delivery system. This primarily involves loading tires from trucks onto hooks and moving full trailers to the dock and removing empty trailers.

The Technicians must adhere to a rotating shift schedule where a specific shift schedule is maintained for a 7 - 10 day period and then days off before rotating onto the next shift. Our plant operates 24/7, therefore the Technicians would be required to work all three shifts, current shift times are listed below.

1st shift - 6:00am - 2:00pm

2nd shift - 2:00pm - 10:00pm

3rd shift - 10:00pm - 6:00am

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
• Practice and promote safety in such way as including but not limited to; assessing risks before starting tasks, only performing authorized activities, utilizing appropriate PPE.
• Exercise and encourage core values including but not limited to; developing self and coaching others by inspiration and empowerment
• Performs all tasks in a safe and efficient manner. Observes safety regulations and established operational procedures at all times
• Places a tire on each empty hook as they pass the dock loading area
• Disposes of unusable material as prescribed
• Removes empty trailers from the dock, and replace with full trailers
• Completes paperwork, record keeping, and sampling as required
• Assists in maintaining plant housekeeping standards
• Promptly reports unusual circumstances, problems or difficulties to supervisor
• Performs other duties as assigned

Additional Requirements:

• Able to lift tires ranging from 20 to 100 lbs, and maneuver tires in excess of 100 lbs
• Able to operate yard tractor, forklift and bobcat
• Able to perform heavy lifting/physically demanding work for prolonged periods of time in extremes of climate/temperature
• Able to climb stairs and ladders, work on catwalks or other unusual work areas.
