Position Summary of Certified Medical Assistant:

Pediatric Surgical Associates is a dynamic group of pediatric medical professionals who work in a busy outpatient clinic setting. The medical assistant supports pediatric urologists, pediatric surgeons, nurse practitioners, nurses, and other amazing and helpful team members to provide the best care to our patients and their families. The medical assistants are a vital and important part of our team.

Our urology team members specialize in pediatric concerns of the genitourinary system. Our general pediatric surgeons focus on acute or chronic disorders that require surgery.

Qualifications:

· Certified MA

· CPR certified

· Enjoy working with pediatric patients and families

· Eager to learn

· Have excellent communication skills

· Strong interpersonal skills while maintaining patient confidentiality and protecting patient rights

· Flexible and willing to work in multiple locations

Knowledge of:

· EMR

· Urinalysis testing

· Standard office equipment

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

· Rooming patients vitals

· Recording medical history

· Perform routine clinic tests-urinalysis, uroflows with/without EMG (training provided) , bladder ultrasound for residual urine (training provided) and record and follow results

· Perform Percutaneous Tibial Nerve Stimulation (PTNS) for patients (training provided)

· Assist with newborn circumcisions

· Assist w/exams and procedures

· Maintain supplies, equipment

· Assist w/prescription refills, prior authorizations, forms and notes for families, insurance companies, and schools

· Enter lab and radiology orders

· Assist w/phone message documentation, patient/parent phone calls

· Front desk reception help as needed-greet patients, registration forms, filing/scanning records, answering phones, scheduling appointments

Locations: Position will travel to/from various Pediatric Surgical Associates clinic locations: Mpls, St. Paul, Minnetonka
