Aids the physicians and providers in maintaining patient flow, providing nursing assistance to providers, patients and their families. This position is under the direction and supervision of a licensed health care provider (Physician, PA, or RN).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Prepare exam and treatment rooms for patient care.
  • Interview patients, take vital signs, weight and height, and document information.
  • Assist with exam and procedures by handing physicians materials and instruments.
  • Inventory and order medical supplies and materials.
  • Clean and sterilize instruments.
  • Give written notification to patients of lab and mammogram results, at the direction of the physician.
  • Give injections or treatments to patients.
  • Keep patient care area and work area clean and well organized.
  • Assist in the scheduling of testing and procedures within the clinic and at outside facilities; explain simple tests and preparation required to patient.
  • Perform various laboratory procedures, i.e., urinalysis according to policy, procedures, and regulations.
  • Schedule patient appointments.
  • Monitor expiration of sample drugs.
  • Help to promote efficient patient flow by anticipating provider needs, directing patient care accordingly.
  • Provides appropriate medications to recipients under the direction and monitoring of licensed nurses or physicians.
  • Perform work assignments as delegated by Nursing Supervisor.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
