University Otolaryngology Associates of CNY, LLP Syracuse, NY
Under the direction of the licensed provider, the Medical Office Assistant collaborates within a multi-disciplinary team approach to deliver quality care. Position performs clinical and clerical support activities. Full Time and Part-time available.
Minimum Qualifications: Completion of an approved Medical Assistant or Medical Office Assistant program or one year experience directly related to the medical field; current CPR certification; ability to work independently and maintain a personable and professional attitude.
*Preference given to applicants with proven EMR experience.*
Duties include but are not limited to: prepare examination rooms for patients before, during, and after examinations or procedures; assist in the provision of or provide direct care and/or medical screening of patients that includes taking vital signs, such as height, weight and blood pressure. Review medication lists and obtain medication authorizations. Maintain sufficient patient flow by coordinating and monitoring patient schedules; verify insurance coverage and necessary authorization of services; demonstrate competency in the registration process. Initiate, prepare and maintain medical records; schedule future tests/appointments and retrieve results. Must be able to complete multiple tasks in a timely and accurate manner, demonstrate proper telephone technique and etiquette as well as maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
Will provide other clerical and clinical support as needed.
