Access Behavioral Health Services is a distinguished outpatient clinic that is dedicated to helping people from all backgrounds enhance their quality of life. We have two convenient locations in Boise and Nampa, and our proprietors have been in the human services sector for more than three decades. We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Peer Support team. This is a great opportunity to be part of a supportive team of professionals dedicated to helping individuals in recovery using the peer model as it was intended. As a Peer Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing community-based peer services to individuals working towards self-directed recovery. Peer Support offers the opportunity to share your lived experiences and assist individuals in making informed decisions. You will draw from your own personal recovery story to create an encouraging, strengths-based environment for peers to connect, exchange ideas, and practice self-care. Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Certification as an Idaho Peer Support Specialist
  • No more than 2 driving violations within the past 3 years
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance coverage
  • Clearance of Idaho Department of Health & Welfare Enhanced criminal history background check

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two or more years of experience in the behavioral health field
  • Computer literacy and experience with electronic health record management systems
  • Knowledge of community resources

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with members to provide a safe, supportive environment for them to share their experiences
  • Facilitate recovery-oriented activities, such as wellness planning and strength identification
  • Utilize evidence-based practices and motivational interviewing techniques to assist members in developing goals and action plans to achieve those goals
  • Engage in regular supervision with the Program Manager or designee
  • Attend scheduled supervision meetings with the professional team as needed
  • Maintain accurate documentation of services provided according to agency standards
  • Participate in program evaluation activities as required by the agency, as well as state and federal regulations
  • Maintain confidentiality in written and verbal communication
  • Advocate for the rights and needs of each program recipient in accordance with state and federal regulations
  • Demonstrate knowledge of community resources available to assist individuals in recovery and provide referrals when appropriate
  • Follow the Idaho Certified Peer Support Specialist Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct
  • Maintain annual CEU and recertification requirements
