Certified Surgical Technologist- Operating Room
CST with a minimum of 1-year CVOR experience. General experience required.

Shift: 4 x 10-hour shifts. 0645-1715 (Wednesday 0630-1700)
Weekends: none
Holidays: none
On-Call: Willing to take call once acclimated to unit. Call includes- midnight, weekend, and held-over call.

Required Cert: BLS
Preferred Cert: CST or TS-C
Scrubs: provided

Position: Surgical Tech

Specialty: Surgical Hospital specializing in Ortho, ENT, General Surgeries

Weekly Hours: 3 10-hr shifts or 4 10-hr shifts

Shift: Arrival time is 6:30am. Projected off the table time is 5pm.

No weekends. No holidays. Duration of Placement: 13 weeks

Role/Position Definition: Responsible for preparing instruments and supplies to
perform procedures according to the physician’s documented preferred routine. Ability
to prepare the operating field for procedures while performing routine and delegated
duties.

Qualifications/Position Requirements:
A. Education/Experience
Associates Degree in Surgical Technology or equivalent operating room
experience as a Surgical Technologist required.
B. Licensure/Certification
a) Surgical Tech certification strongly preferred.
b) Current Basic Life Support Certification for Healthcare Providers, from the
American Heart Association required.
A. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
a) Must possess thorough knowledge of surgical instrumentation.
b) Requires frequent judgment and response; occasionally in response to
disasters or emergencies, actual events or drills.
c) Requires high-level visual and auditory acuity for timely response.

and interpersonal communication.

  • Assembles supplies and equipment for schedule procedures according to the physician’s preference cards.
  • Inspects equipment for proper working condition.
  • Performs operating room technician functions following prescribed operating room procedures and principles of aseptic technique.
  • Adheres to aseptic technique when opening sterile packages and preparing for procedures.
  • Arranges instruments according to routine for the scheduled procedure; confirms that instruments work properly.
  • Maintains availability of instruments and supplies to avoid delays.
  • Reports observed or suspected breaks in sterile technique and responds according to Facility policy.
  • Correctly utilizes and cares for supplies and equipment as directed.
  • Handles equipment and instruments correctly to provide availability and safety.
  • Assists in maintaining adequate supplies in the Operating Room for immediate access during procedures.
  • Assists in work areas by cleaning, storing, packaging, and sterilizing instruments.
  • Assists with storing and stocking supplies as directed.
  • Maintains and updates instrument cards and surgeons’ preference cards.
  • Responds in a timely manner to meet the needs of the patient and physician.
  • Documents records and other forms according to Facility policy.
  • Communicates information about the patient’s status to others responsible for patient care.

Pay: $60.00 - $65.00 per hour
