CHAPLAIN Job at SGMC

The incumbent shall provide Pastoral Care Services to a wide range of persons of diverse religious and cultural backgrounds. The incumbent shall be responsible for: providing spiritual care to patients, family members and hospital staff, working with staff, patients, and families to provide pastoral crisis intervention in crisis situations; conducting religious services as requested; providing pastoral counsel to patients, their families and hospital staff. This Position requires some night and weekend on-call coverage on a rotating basis.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Graduate of a seminary, school of theology, or other approved ministerial training program.

One unit of Clinical Pastoral Education preferred.

Commissioned through a recognized religious organization to serve as a chaplain.

Minimum of two years of organized religious leadership experience.

Able to relate to and work effectively with persons of diverse religious and cultural backgrounds.

Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
-
Able to work efficiently and effectively in stressful situations.
-
Prefer previous experience as a hospital/hospice chaplain.
