The Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”) will direct and oversee the financial activities of the company, direct the preparation of current financial reports and summaries, create forecasts predicting future growth, and manage all aspects of cashflows for the Company. The CFO is ultimately responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of the organization’s financial reporting. The CFO helps establish and direct the organization’s financial goals, objectives, budget, and plan. The CFO has primary responsibility for ensuring that internal controls are in place, enforced, and reviewed periodically for conformance to accounting and financial standards and applicable regulations.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Directs the preparation of all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, shareholder / lender reporting, tax returns, and governmental agency reports.
  • Compares sales and profit projections to actual figures and budgeted expenses to actual expenses; makes or oversees any necessary adjustments to future projections and budgets.
  • Reviews the planning process and suggest improvements to current methods.
  • Analyzes operations to identify areas where efficiencies can be realized.
  • Works with the CEO and other executives to coordinate planning and establish priorities for the planning process.
  • Studies long-range economic trends and projects their impact on future growth in sales and market share.
  • Analyzes opportunities for expansion and other growth initiatives.
  • Oversight of inventory management.
  • Responsible for all internal and external reporting, including loan covenant compliance reporting and certification.
  • Is the main point of contact between the Company and the External Auditor and coordinates Company audit activities and responses.
  • Oversees cash management processes to ensure proper cash availability and best practices in cash management, including all aspects of working capital.
  • Ensures the Company is properly capitalized to finance its operations and provides support in negotiations with lenders, investors and other capital providers.
  • Manages billing, collections, and accounts payable functions.
  • Company Secretary responsible for administrative functions associated with Board of Director requirements.
  • Responsible for finance and accounting related IT systems.
  • Adhere to the company Code of Conduct.
Requirements:

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent management and supervisory skills.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in database and accounting computer application systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education and Experience:

  • Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance required.
  • 10-15 years of experience in financial management required, including prior CFO experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to access various departments of a given location.
  • Approximately 25-30% travel is required if remote working, less than 10% if on-site.
