Job Summary:


The Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) serves as a trusted strategic partner and advisor to the CEO to ensure Windwalker continues to build a diverse, inclusive, and strong People First culture across today's organization with an eye toward future growth. The CHRO also provides the executive management team strategic leadership on short- and long-term human resources goals supporting the overall business plan. The CHRO will be responsible for the entire continuum of HR leadership, specifically in talent management, change management, organizational development, succession planning, employee and labor relations, and rewards and recognition. The CHRO will lead the Human Resources team to work collaboratively with leaders to achieve business results through best practices for HR service delivery.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


Shapes, nurtures, and champions Windwalker’s People First culture to create a competitive employer brand that attracts and retains the best talent.

Actively participates in strategic and operational planning by developing, prioritizing, and executing strategic human resources goals and objectives.

Serves as a strategic business advisor to People First Managers regarding key organizational and management issues.

Identifies and analyzes trends and metrics for the organization’s human resource and talent management functions to develop solutions, programs, and policies to deliver business objectives.

Researches, develops, and implements competitive HR programs that positively impact recruitment, retention, and morale, in areas including but not limited to compensation, benefits, performance, and employee recognition.

Oversees the administration and compliance of collective bargaining agreement(s), including grievance procedures.

Leads the Human Resources team in implementing all initiatives and projects associated with a comprehensive administration of the Human Resources function.


Develops HR team capabilities and promotes professional development and growth of the HR team.


Required Qualifications:


Must have a Bachelor’s degree.

Minimum 10 years of progressive responsibility and work experience in Human Resources with at least 5 years in a management/leadership role.

Solid functional expertise across all areas of Human Resources, including talent management, change management, organizational development, strategic workforce planning, employee and labor relations, and rewards and recognition.

Strong leadership and supervisory skills.

Exceptional conflict management skills.

Robust understanding of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) strategies.

Strong business acumen with the ability to connect and interpret business strategies to effectively drive people initiatives that enhance business performance.

Able to operate at both a strategic and operational level.


Preferred Qualifications:


Master’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or related field preferred.

S/PHR or SHRM S/CP Certification or other HR Certifications are a plus.
