Role:

We are looking for a dynamic, and forward-thinking Chief Academic Officer to help execute Right at School’s mission to inspire a love of learning, support schools & give parents and peace of mind by leading and supporting the strategic direction and development of Right At Schools program development, program quality and effectiveness, research, metrics and evaluation, inclusion and curriculum services, and continuous innovative program offerings.

As Chief Impact Officer you will:

  • Serve as a key member of the Right At School leadership team, partnering and advising on strategic direction to constantly improve the overall effectiveness of the organization.
  • Continue to cultivate our “ A Place to Learn '' philosophy by Identifying, developing, and executing ongoing strategic initiatives that include instructional planning, new products and services and at home curriculum.
  • Identify appropriate outcomes to measure and achieve goals including program quality, staff and student culture and student success.
  • Partner with the field leadership at all levels to ensure ongoing educator and field leadership development.
  • Lead the curriculum and inclusion team with authenticity and provide the strategic vision to inspire and elevate team development and growth.
  • Build a more robust strategy for inclusion services for scalable operations.
  • Attend and participate in presentations in multiple state & some national conferences to establish and build relationships to grow the pipeline. May require up to 30% travel.
  • Continuously identify new ways to make Right At Schools curriculum, culture and experience even more meaningful.
  • Pursue, establish and maintain meaningful collaborative partnerships with internal teams and external partners that support and inspire educational opportunities and growth.
  • Ensure each field leader is continuously focusing on the highest-level priorities by observing programs, coaching, leading effective meetings and providing real-time feedback.
  • Working alongside the President to support the operational functions of each district including new student enrollment.
  • Plan, manage and oversee budget in order to make operational decisions in line with profitability and cost priorities.
  • Oversee the revision of policies as required based on new state and federal guidance.
  • Oversee all program compliance based on state and federal requirements.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of curriculum and enrichment development, program evaluation, child growth and development, classroom management, assessment, and use of technology.

Requirements

What We’d Like You to Have:

  • Ph.D/EdD from an accredited four-year institution.
  • Significant K-12 teaching experience and prior success in a school leadership position, either as a School Leader/Principal or as an Assistant Principal with a significant focus on academic achievement and instruction.
  • Minimum 10+ years of relevant professional education experience in curriculum and assessment, instruction, and school programming.
  • Minimum 10+ years in a school leader role with a record of achieving outstanding academic and social results for students from traditional and under-resourced communities or populations
  • Minimum 2 years of experience either managing and/or coaching school leaders to drive student academic and social results.
  • Experience with CASEL framework and National Education Standards
  • Ability to set a clear academic vision and aligned priorities, develop strategic plans, and empower others to achieve them
  • Deep knowledge and proven experience in curricula, instructional practices, school operations and management, and educator and leader development
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in people leadership and management, including selection and hiring, coaching and development
  • Demonstrated success in leading others to close learning gaps for students.
  • Strong knowledge of effective teaching methods and intervention strategies
  • Familiarity with common national education programs and products
  • A proven track record of achieving measurable results
  • Significant experience managing and leading a large team to meet aggressive goals.
  • Action oriented and results driven
  • Collaborative problem solver with demonstrated ability to leverage resources and expertise across the organization without formal authority.
  • Strong communication skills across various levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to understand strategic business levers and prioritize accordingly.
