POSITION AND COMPANY OVERVIEW
Maine Aviation Aircraft Charter, LLC, a Maine Aviation Corporation company, is recruiting for a Chief Pilot position. Our company is based in South Portland , ME and conducts aircraft management operations and on-demand charter operations. Our flight operations entail both domestic and international assignments on our fleet of turbojet aircraft based at our home base and satellite locations. The position is primarily required to work from our office in South Portland, ME , although some domestic and international travel will be required on occasion.
The Chief Pilot holds full operational control and is responsible to the Director of Operations. The Chief Pilot directs, leads and oversees the performance of the Flight Crew Department, including the offices and groups within it, by creating policy, process and procedure The Chief Pilot will meet the requirements of with FAR 119.71 and is responsible for:
· Chief Pilot may assume determinations of crew member qualification and eligibility in the absence of the Director of Operations.

· Flight crew staffing and training.

· Maintaining the Company training manual.

· The designation of flight crews.

· The training and qualifications of all flight crew members in accordance with the ground and flight training programs, including:

· The scheduling of each pilot for the competency check required by FAR 135.293

· The scheduling of each Pilot in Command for the instrument proficiency check required by FAR 135.297

· The scheduling of each Pilot in Command for the line check required by FAR 135.299

· Disseminating aircraft and pilot information (aircraft checklists, aircraft charter folder, current publications.

· Submitting to the FAA all required reports.

· Auditing of Part 142 training facilities.

· Development of Company Flight Standards

· Development and distribution of SOP manuals for company aircraft.

· Monitor crew performance and evaluate potential for advancement.

· Assist with the training of new hire and upgrading crewmembers.

· Assist with the SMS program to improve safety assurance, quality management and implement or evaluate risk mitigation techniques.

· Regulatory Compliance

· Achievement of Safety Goals and Objectives

· Departmental Quality, Customer Service and Organizational Interests

· Act as a liaison to:

· MAC Air Group company officers, aircraft owners, and charter customers, including providing training advice on new, current or revised:

· Regulatory Requirements

· Aircraft Equipment / Technology

· Industry Best-Practices

· Company-Defined Standards and Policy

· Training Considerations

· The Federal Aviation Administration

· Outsourced training facilities and vendors

· Develop and maintain the following policy, process and procedure documents:

· Training Program Manual

· Miscellaneous policy documents

· Develop training policy, process and procedure that check airman, company instructors and

· line pilots [flight crew] are trained in accordance with requirements listed in the:

· International Civil Aviation Organization’s Standards & Recommended Practices

· Federal Aviation Regulations

· Operations Specifications

· Aircraft Flight Manual/Aircraft Crew Manual

· Aircraft Flight Manual SupplementsA

· Aeronautical Data

The Chief Pilot may delegate functions to other personnel, but retains overall responsibility.

While carrying out the duties and responsibilities of the position, the Chief Pilot acts in a manner

that emphasizes safety and quality by exercising good, sound and responsible decision making.

In addition, the CP represents the Flight Crew Department to a variety of customer governmental and industry entities and does so in a manner that is professional, while considering the best interests of the organization.

AUTHORITY, ACCOUNTABILITY, DELEGATION & SUCCESSION

· The Chief Pilot possesses authority over control of the Flight Crew Department, including the

· authority to exercise operational control as defined in Title 14 CFR Part 1.

· The Chief Pilot is accountable for operational regulatory compliance1 and crewmember practices2

· of the Flight Crew Department.

· The Chief Pilot responsibilities listed below, which substantiate operational regulatory compliance and crewmember practices of the Flight Crew Department; and the implementation of supporting policy, process and procedure, may be delegated to Flight Crew Department personnel, as determined appropriate.
