Employ Prince George’s Chief Program Officer is the leader of the Workforce Services Division, providing executive management of Employ Prince George’s workforce development programs, initiatives, and activities serving job seekers and businesses. The Chief Program Officer is responsible for the development and implementation of strategies that drive the success of the division, developing and improving programs, leading the programmatic support of Employ Prince George’s grant and contract applications, and managing the fiscal and programmatic success of the Workforce Services Division programs.
Employ Prince George’s performs multiple functions for the Prince George’s County Workforce Development Board. As required by federal regulations, Employ Prince George’s has established internal firewalls to protect the integrity of each function. All Workforce Services Division staff are prohibited from serving and operating, simultaneously, as staff to the Prince George’s County Workforce Development Board. As the Chief of the Workforce Services Division, the Chief Program Officer represents Employ Prince George’s as the WIOA Title I Career Services Provider when the President & CEO, other division Chiefs, and employees are operating as staff of the Prince George’s County Workforce Development Board. The Chief Program Officer also acts as a representative of the organization as a programmatic service provider of Employ DMV.
Reporting, Working Relationships, & Classification:
The Chief Program Officer is a member of Employ Prince George’s Executive Leadership Team, leads all staff within the Workforce Services Division, and reports to the President & CEO. They work closely with the leadership of each division within Employ Prince George’s to ensure the departments and programs operating within the division achieve their mission, objectives, and goals. The Chief Program Officer supervises Workforce Services Division department directors, and other staff as necessary.
This position is exempt from overtime.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Leading the formulation and management of the division’s grant and contractual goals
- Day-to-day management of the Workforce Services Division and the departments operating within the division
- Development of the annual divisional, departmental, and programmatic budgets
- Cultivating and maintaining relationships that support the success of the Workforce Services Division
- Representing Employ Prince George’s within the Prince George’s County American Job Center Community Network
- Professional development of the Workforce Services Division’s directors, staff, and other direct reports
- Ensuring the Workforce Services Division operates within the guidelines of federal, state, and local regulations
- Consistently assessing Workforce Services Division departments, directors, and programs to ensure maximum efficiency, effectiveness, impact, and exceptional customer service
- Coordinating cross-departmental and divisional strategies to ensure program and division success
Must have a minimum of seven years of workforce development experience, specifically with WIOA Title I programs, to be considered.
Compensation: $135,000
