Position is available to employees of the Associated C.O.L.T. Staff of the University of Maine from 11/02/2022 through 11/08/2022 and open to external applicants thereafter.


A Child Care Assistant Teacher is a classified employee who assists the Child Care Teacher to insure the consistent provision of developmentally appropriate child care. This is a 40 hours per week position with a normal work schedule of 9:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The center is currently operating on abbreviated hours of 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. This position pays $16.30 per hour.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Education associated with a high school diploma (or equivalency)
  • Successful supervisory experience within a group infant-toddler child care environment.
  • Demonstrated communication skills and ability to work effectively as a team member.
  • Ability to safely lift and care for children aged six-weeks-through-six years old.
