Child Outreach Screeners Job at East Bay Educational Collaborative
Applicants must implement developmental screening of children ages 3-5, prior to kindergarten entry, with the intent of identifying children who may have a disability or developmental delay and who therefore require further evaluation to determine eligibility for special education. Screeners should have knowledge, acquired through in-service preparation, of general child development and skills in working with young children. Screenings take approximately 45 minutes each and provide information about how a child is progressing in the areas of vision, hearing, speech/language, social/emotional, and general development. Successful applicants will receive comprehensive training in the specific screening tests to be administered.
Child Outreach Screeners will be assigned to work within a specific school district in RI and will be supervised by school district personnel(Providence, Pawtucket, Central Falls, Woonsocket, East Providence, Cranston, North Providence, Newport, Warwick, West Warwick & Johnston). Must be fluent in English, however multilingual screeners are needed and encouraged to apply. Some flexibility in scheduling the required 3-6 hours per day and the number of days worked may be possible. All screeners must pass a RI Criminal Background check.
