CLEANER
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: This position involves responsibility to perform a variety of cleaning tasks in accordance with well-established practices and procedures. The work is repetitive in nature requiring minimal independent judgment in carrying out assigned tasks.
The work is performed under general supervision; does related work as required.
TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES: (Illustrative only)
- Vacuums, dusts, sweeps, mops, strips and waxes floors;
- Cleans and washes windows, walls, bathrooms, woodwork and equipment;
- Empties wastebaskets, collects and disposes of trash;
- Dusts, cleans and polishes chairs, tables, desks and other furniture and appliances;
- Spray buffs floors as scheduled;
- Performs other duties as requested;

FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL
CHARACTERISTICS: Working knowledge of building cleaning methods, materials and equipment; ability to understand and follow simple oral and written directions; ability to apply modern cleaning practices and appropriate use of cleaning supplies and equipment; ability to read and write; thoroughness; cleanliness; physical condition commensurate with demands of the position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
None is required but preference in appointment will be given those with industrial cleaning experience.
