We at Fairview Health Services are looking for a driven Patient Registrar to join our Riverside location on the University of Minnesota Campus. This role is approved for 80 hours every two weeks, and is benefit eligible. The Riverside location has a diverse patient population and is one of the smaller clinics our system. It is a hard working staff with providers who are dedicated to staff education. M Health Fairview - Riverside Clinic is currently growing with 6 providers on staff, and 3 more scheduled to start in the coming months! This is a lively location with exciting career opportunities.
Responsibilities/Job Description:
Our Patient Registration crew greets and welcomes patients into the clinic. The verify, register and schedule patients accurately and efficiently. This includes verifying insurance and demographic information. This team also reviews and maintains patient accounts, secures financial arrangements on self-pay balances prior to and during patient appointments, and researches and facilitates patients questions and concerns.
  • A strong ability to communicate with patients to verify insurance coverage, eligibility, group numbers, effective dates and coverage, accurate insurance, and billing address.
  • Advises patients of insurance coverage co-pays or self-pay policy and documents to their account for front desk staff.
  • Monitors patient balances on accounts and alerts patients of outstanding balances to ensure appropriate financial arrangements.
  • Answers in-coming calls from patients or internal team members to assist with the care of patients
  • Schedules appointments for patients with specified clinician according to scheduling guidelines and availability actively trying to accommodate all involved
Qualifications:

Preferred

  • Completion of medical terminology course or equivalent experience and education preferred.
