The Data Specialist is a cross-functional specialist responsible for handling administrative tasks for the data analyst and EDA team members to keep projects running smoothly. Their main duties include maintaining meeting or project schedules, organizing and participating in project meetings, ensuring all deadlines for certain projects are met, collaborating with data analysts to extract data figures, and creating reports based on their findings to determine business initiatives’ success.


  • Help EDA Supervisor Plan and manage team goals and project schedules.
  • Oversee current projects and coordinate all team members to keep workflow on track.
  • Manage project-related documentation by ensuring all necessary materials are current, properly filed and stored.
  • Direct project correspondences by preparing and reviewing project proposals, memos, meeting minutes and emails.
  • Collaborate with data analysts to collect and analyze data.
  • Structure large data sets to find usable information.
  • Work with a team of analysts and other associates to process information.
  • Create presentations and reports based on recommendations and findings.
  • Assist with ongoing data architecture processes and governance.
  • Research and collect data to assist with process development and data analysis.
  • Maintains Team’s SharePoint sites.
  • Works with Clinical Assignment Manager to support requests for data as needed.
  • Employs critical thinking and exercises good judgment and accountability to ensure all activities incorporate a focus on Mass General Brigham Health Plan key results and goals.
  • Works well autonomously and in a team environment.
  • Anticipates and meets, or exceeds, internal and/or external customer expectations and requirements; establishes and maintains effective relationships with customers and gains their trust and respect.

Required:

  • College Degree or the equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • 2+ years’ experience as a data specialist
  • Experience in project coordination, from conception to delivery

Preferred/Desired:

Prior experience working for a health plan and/or insurance environment.
