Clinical Pharmacist Specialist - Inpatient Blood Glucose Stewardship Job at Lifespan
Lifespan - Rhode Island Hospital (RIH) is currently recruiting for a Clinical Pharmacist Specialist in Inpatient Blood Glucose Stewardship. The clinical specialist is responsible for building, implementing, and growing an inpatient blood glucose stewardship service line at RIH and across the Lifespan system. Responsibilities include blood glucose stewardship, medication utilization evaluation and subsequent formulary optimization, pharmacy residency and student preceptorship, medical resident education, and academic lectures. The clinical specialist will mentor and lead our decentralized team of clinical pharmacists and collaborate with multidisciplinary care givers throughout the hospital’s inpatient medicine units.
The candidate will have the opportunity to work with a highly trained and motivated multidisciplinary cadre of Lifespan clinical pharmacist specialists. Their daily activities will include monitoring, assessing, and recommending changes to and optimizing medication use; participating in the development of therapeutic drug policy and implementing corrective strategies necessary to minimize drug costs; monitoring pharmacy clinical services through continuous quality improvement projects; and participation in the development and implementation of policies, drug therapy and therapeutic guidelines, and therapy plans. Opportunities for research, publication, and presentation at the national level are also available.

Pay: $115,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
