CLS-GENERALIST - LICENSED - FT Job at GenX Laboratories, Inc
- Recruiting a CLS-CHEM or CLS Generalist to perform testing in the Department of Public Health Genetic Disease Laboratory Newborn and Prenatal Screening contract laboratory for northern California.
- Testing for this program is located at Allied Laboratories, Inc. in Mountain View, CA.
- Technology consists of high automation, enzyme immunoassay, PCR, tandem mass spectrometry, HPLC, colorimetric, fluorometric assays and other molecular methods.
- Perform high complexity testing to discover the presence or absence of genetic disease in infants and provide data that help neonatologists and genetic disease counselors determine the best treatment for the patient.
You will:
- Perform testing and release results on all tests on the screening panels according to protocol.
- Perform maintenance, calibration, and other QA activities.
- May perform pre-analytical, data entry, sample processing and oversee laboratory technicians.
- May lift supplies and equipment to 20 lb.
- Job entails walking and standing
- Resolve pending samples and other issues
- Monitor TAT that samples are processed and resulted in a timely manner
- Support lab assistant and technicians as a point of reference
- Collaborate with lab management to improve lab processes
- Provide technical support to the CDPH Genetic Disease Laboratory, the Genetic Disease Branch, and the Genetic counselors coordinators.
- Have the ability to collaborate efficiently with a team and as a self-starter.
- Perform new equipment validations as directed by the CDPH central Genetic Disease Laboratory.
