Pay: $20-$30 per hour, depending on experience
Job Duties:
Sets up and operates CNC milling machines and lathes Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements. Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions. Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers. Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining. Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining. Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to drawing specifications. Calculate and set controls to regulate speed, feed, depth, and angle of cut. Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems. Responsible for complete machine programming, change over, and setup.
Qualifications:
- Must be experienced/comfortable completing numerous change overs per shift/day.
- Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and assembly drawings.
- Must be able to do own layout.
