Job Description

Coffee Shop attendants play an important role in the successful operation of Waterman’s and the
public face of the organization and are often the primary point of contact for information about
upcoming events. All applicants must be a self-motivated hard worker, willing to learn,
exceptional listeners, be open to feedback, ask questions, and have strong verbal communication
skills. Attendants must be dedicated to exceptional customer service and community
appropriateness.

General responsibilities:
· Greet customers and patrons warmly and politely. Must have ability to triage questions, relay
messages, and remain calm. Excellent customer service skills and professionalism required.
  • Keep coffee and hot water containers full throughout shift. Maintain supply of baked goods.
  • Assure all supplies and merchandise are fully always stocked.
  • Complete inventory list of items, and all required paperwork, especially informing office staff
of low stock.
  • Manage house account cards, perform simple addition and subtraction to make accurate
change, use Square to run credit cards, be willing to train/learn new skills
  • Maintain general cleanliness in the community room and other common spaces. Pick-up games
and trash.
  • Enforce the rules of the building, encourage respectful use of the property.

  • Self-motivated, willing to learn, open to feedback.
  • Basic math skills required, including ability to make accurate change
  • Organized with ability to multi-task and manage time efficiently.
  • Polite and professional phone etiquette and impeccable message taking skills.
  • Knowledge and love of North Haven helpful.

WCC will provide at least one training session and one performance evaluation session to check-
in, offer feedback, and ensure job duties and expectations are understood and completed with
follow-up.

Hours: Monday - Friday 2:30-4:30 - 10 hours/week
Pay: $15/hr.
