Collections Specialist

We are offering an excellent opportunity for an Collections Specialist with 7 plus years’ experience in collecting to join our team.

The ideal candidate will need to have a dedicated work ethic, be able to “look at the bigger picture” work well under pressure, be highly organized, detail-oriented, and accurate. The ability to multi-task is essential.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Run statements after all invoices, credits and payments have been posted for the month and email or mail to customers.
• Reconcile customer payments and account transactions, includes speaking, emailing and corresponding with the customer regarding reconciliation of the receivables items as necessary.
• Make collection calls to customers on any invoices that are past due or short paid.
• Monitor all customer accounts for non-payment and delayed payment
• Keep accurate records of all customer communications and follow-up with manager if there are any issues that need their attention.
• Prepare reports to for management as requested
• Process adjustments and write-offs.
• Prepare analysis of customer accounts as requested.
• Reconcile accounts to insure that all invoices and payments balance.
• Process all credit requests as submitted.
• Research any customer credit requests and process once approved
• Assist with monthly sales tax reporting
• Assist in yearly audit and monthly closings.
• Maintain A/R files.
• Provide assistance and support to other team members

Qualifications and Experience:

• Associate degree in Accounting or similar field (will consider equivalent experience). At least 7 years prior collections experience.
• Must be extremely accurate and have great attention to detail.
• Must have strong math and analytical skills
• Prior collection call experience is a must.
• Must work independently with minimum supervision.
• Excel at operating in a fast paced environment.
• Must have excellent computer skills and proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.

Physical Requirements:

• Able to perform general office skills
• Always requires speaking and listening, and acuity
• Requires standing, walking, carrying, stooping, crouching, sitting, grasping, reaching and climbing stairs.
• May require lifting, pulling and/or pushing up to 10 lbs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
