Medical Assistant Job Duties:

  • Verifies patient information by interviewing patient during intake; recording medical history; confirming purpose of visit.
  • Prepares patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests; taking blood pressure and temperature; reporting patient history summary in EMR.
  • Saves Podiatrist time by helping with office procedures such as completing x-rays, setting up the proper tools for visit/procedure, removing casts and much more.
  • Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records; completing diagnosis coding and procedure coding during dictation.
  • Schedules surgeries by making arrangements with the surgical center or hospital; verifying times with patients; preparing charts, pre-admission, consent forms retrieving prior authorizations and referrals in advance of surgery, collecting all balances before surgery.
  • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations and the company protocols.
  • Keeps supplies ready by having inventory in stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.
  • Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; calling for repairs.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications requesting additional training.
  • Serves and protects the podiatry practice by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures.

Front Desk Job Duties:

  • Answer phones, take messages and greet patients
  • Schedule appointments and follow up visits
  • Completing Medical records
  • Insurance verification and collections of all co-pays, deductible and coinsurance.
  • Knowledge of PPO and HMO Plans
  • Assisting reception duties and physical therapy departments
  • Cross-training for all departments

Physical Therapy Technician Duties:

4-day week schedule-Tuesday through Friday- 8am to 6:30pm or Monday through Thursday-8am-6:30pm

Physical Therapy Tech Job Duties:

  • Assists physical therapists with preparation of patient’s treatment.
  • Adheres to protocol for scheduling patients per therapist's discretion/plan of care.
  • Assists the Physical Therapist in the performance of appropriate activities related to the treatment of the individual patient - this includes but is not limited to patient set up/ disassembly of electrical stim, performance of ultrasound, set up of exercise equipment and exercise supervision. Works under the direct supervision and instruction of the physical therapist.
  • Maintains cleanliness and tidiness of clinic while disinfecting of chairs, handrails, beds, and equipment after patient use.
  • Pre-Rounding Physical Therapy schedule by keeping patient insurance updated, authorizations/pre-certifications are obtained, and patient charts are updated.
  • Working with all departments of the practice which includes, DPM’s, medical assistants, front desk receptionists, management/leads and CEO, and marketing associates as needed.
  • Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records.
  • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations and the company protocols.
  • Keeps supplies ready by keeping inventory and having items in stock; placing orders as needed; verifying receipt.
  • Assisting reception duties as needed

Requirements

  • To complete all activities accurately, with high quality and in a timely manner.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Proficiency in excel and word (MS)
  • Athena EMR experience a plus but not mandatory
