JOB DESCRIPTION: Summary/Objective The Digital and Graphic Communications Specialist will be an integral part of the development and execution of marketing plans to reach targets from brand awareness to vision implementation. The goal is to deliver effective marketing programs that will help our reputation and growth. The area of concentration of this position will be social media/marketing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: To be a part of the church's graphic design, web team, and technical productions team to ensure superior internal and external communications across all channels. Ensure marketing is supportive of and consistent with, marketing strategies and brand guidelines. Coordinate development of the church and community-wide marketing, including web, email, and print ads, and events to engage new visitors and members. Manage information for Sunday morning communications, including worship guide/bulletin, video announcements, service slides, brochures, informational signage, directional signage, online content, and others as required. Work with ministry teams to develop marketing and communication resources that connect visitors and members to the life and ministries of the church. Maintain plans and schedules for social media posting, video announcement recording, and church e-newsletter ad submissions. Engage members and visitors through a variety of social media mediums. Prepare press releases to communicate major initiatives to television and radio outlets. Write and edit compelling marketing and short advertorial copy related to the life and ministry of the church. Continually identify and improve communication efficiencies within the church. Engage outside media opportunities to bring attention to initiatives at CUMC.

Work Environment This job operates in a church environment, as well as periodical travel to different sites. This role also routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Physical Demands The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Travel Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected. Requirements: Proven experience as a marketing specialist or similar role.

Thorough understanding of marketing elements (including traditional and digital marketing such as SEO/social media etc.) and market research methods. Demonstrable experience in marketing data analytics and tools (Expertise in copywriting, creating PowerPoint presentations, handling Excel and Word documents, and working with Outlook). Solid computer skills, including Office 365, G Suite for Business, graphic designing software (Adobe Creative Suite & CRM), CMS platforms (Word-press, Joomla), video editing software (Final Cut Pro), Social Media Management software (Hoote Suite) and data applications (Web analytics, Google AdWords, etc.). Basic to intermediate audio engineering skills is preferred. Well-organized, detail-oriented, and should be a good team player and ability to implement creative ideas with good leadership qualities.

Exceptional communication and good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with all kinds of people and writing skills. Commercial awareness partnered with a creative mind. College student, Junior or Senior BA in Marketing, Communications, Mass Communications or equivalent.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $22.00 per hour
