Community Family Medicine Rotation Job at Heart of Ohio Family Health Centers
The Heart of Ohio Family Health’s Community Family Medicine Rotation provides 4th year medical students with hands-on experience in holistically caring for the underserved. This 4 week rotation has an innovative, multidisciplinary curriculum that includes clinical experiences with Family Medicine Physicians, Pharmacists, and Dietitians, experiences with Community Health Workers, Advocacy and Anti-oppression training, mentorship opportunities, and a culminating project to allow students to join the conversation in overcoming health disparities. Students from medical schools across the country are invited to apply for dates in their 4th year; we offer multiple dates and will work with your school to accommodate your scheduling needs!

Our rotation specializes in CARING for patients.
That is:
- Compassionately caring for patients with focus on the social determinants of health and the ways that community health centers meet these needs. You will be challenged to think about these needs in all steps of caring for patients and in all patient care settings including opportunities to learn from the Pharmacist, Dietitian, and Community Health Workers!
- Advocacy training surrounding issues that impact caring for the underserved and will teach you to be a strong ally and advocate for patients!
- Revolutionary cultural humility training through a groundbreaking curriculum and your personal experiences working with a diverse population of patients from all over the world.
- Innovative project of your own that addresses a current unmet need surrounding patient care or social determinants of health. That’s right, YOU design it, and eve get the opportunity to present it to our leadership team.
- Garnering relationships with like-minded professionals for future opportunities including mentorship and further rotations.
