Alamo Drafthouse is seeking an insightful and experienced Community Marketing Manager to manage and execute local marketing initiatives for our high-growth Los Angeles and San Francisco theaters. The ideal candidate will build upon their existing community knowledge and relationships to entrench the theater into the fabric of the community and make it the primary destination for film and food.

Our marketing approach can often be inventive and unorthodox, featuring movie-themed food and drink specials, unique events, and celebrity Q&As. The successful candidate must be able to communicate the passion we feel for these movies while maintaining a sense of playfulness that celebrates movies and pop culture.

Equally important is the ability to manage the execution of these campaigns. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and project management skills. If you’re not highly organized and detail-oriented – this role isn’t for you. The ideal candidate is part project manager and part PT Barnum, with a true passion for movies.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accountable for the execution of marketing partnerships, community events, and promotions for the Alamo Drafthouse Downtown Los Angeles and San Francisco New Mission
  • Build productive relationships with existing strategic community partners and influencers; mine for new relationships that enable the Alamo Drafthouse to reach and convert target audience guests in the local area
  • Create, organize, and manage a structured plan for venue marketing activities; collaborate with the broader field marketing team and venue leadership to ensure local marketing promotions, and community partnerships are executed on time and on brand
  • Handle and manage multiple relationships with local partners and influencers with the highest level of customer service
  • Create and share compelling content via local organic social media channels in partnership with the regional marketing lead and corporate social media; listen to, respond to, and capture community feedback
  • Develop a deep understanding of the venue’s community and audience; provide data-backed actionable insights on a regular basis for regional marketing, sales, and programming to adjust future strategies based on experimentation and subsequent learningsUse data to evaluate the success of local marketing initiatives and partnerships
  • Be the face of the Alamo Drafthouse to the community; manage daily communication and timelines between external partners

QUALIFICATIONS

  • As an imaginative thinker, you love making connections and engaging with guests both in-theater and online to provide the best possible experience
  • 3+ years of experience in marketing community management; experience in the entertainment or media industry a plus
  • Experience living in and engaging with LA and San Francisco communities is a must
  • A massive movie fan with a deep love for the movie-going experience
  • The ability to engage a consumer audience across multiple platforms, including organic social media, review and listing platforms, influencers, and earned media
  • Strong collaborator with the ability to work across the organization to develop ideas from outside your team and refine them into effective local marketing initiativesIncredibly organized, with attention to detail, and a disdain for missed expectations
  • Able to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously in a very fast-paced environment; able to react quickly to a changing landscape
  • Computer skills adaptability; proficient with Google; ability to learn new software tools including project management systems
  • Currently located in San Francisco or Los Angeles only; ability to work primarily from the venues with a flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends as needed
Starting salary for this position is $75,000 - $90,000, commensurate with experience
