SALARY: $32,400.00

DUTIES: In-Home Aide Services are those paraprofessional services which assist children and adults, and their families with essential home management tasks, and/or supervision in order to enable children, adults and their families to remain and function effectively in their own homes as long as possible. Services needed are determined by social workers. The duties under Level I-III Home Management Services include, but not limited to, the following: shop for food and essentials, provide transportation for appointments/shopping, perform housekeeping tasks, meal preparation, monitor visits with children and adults; observe/report indicators of abuse, neglect, illness, respond to emergency needs as they occur, communicate/interact according to developmental level and as age appropriate, recognize/report changes in health/environment, identify medications for clients, pay bills as directed by client, provide companionship/emotional support, educate and demonstrate skills and tasks to the individual/family, etc. and must be able to participate in shelter duty.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: High School Graduate or equivalent. Demonstrate possession of knowledge, skills, and abilities gained through at least one year of experience in performing tasks similar to the ones assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Basic knowledge of the social, economic, and environmental conditions of clients to be served; working knowledge of basic housekeeping tasks and management functions, ability to teach others, ability to enlist the aid of available community resources; ability to exercise good judgment in appraising situations, ability to verbally and in writing communicate findings; basic skills in reading, writing, and simple mathematics.
