COMPANION CARE AIDE

Pay Rate $15.00/hr

Per diem/Limited Part time Positions Available

Brothers of Mercy is currently hiring per diem Companion Care Aides for our picturesque campus located in Clarence, NY. A part of the Buffalo community since 1924, Brothers of Mercy provides skilled nursing care and rehabilitation services to seniors throughout Erie County. We are always looking for positive, dependable, caring individuals to join our Nursing team to meet the growing demand in our community for quality care.

COMPANION CARE DUTIES:

  • Provides companionship and conversation
  • Prepares and serves meals and/or snacks
  • Encourages personal hygiene, grooming and dressing
  • Performs light housekeeping and laundry
  • Gives client medication reminders
  • Assists with activities/entertainment of choice i.e. Playing cards or board games.
  • Provides assistance setting up outside appointments
  • Works with safety in mind at all times:
    • Assure that established infection control and universal precautions practices are maintained when performing duties.
    • Report all hazardous conditions to coordinator.
    • Follow established fire safety policies and procedures.
    • Assures that assigned work areas are maintained in a clear, safe, comfortable and attractive manner.
    • Report any physical, mental or emotional behaviors to coordinator
    • Maintain confidentiality of client information. Respects the client’s personal belongings and property.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • Must have high school diploma or GED; experience in geriatrics required.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills and multi task.
