State of Missouri Remote

Job Location: This position has a regional office located in Raytown, MO but requires travel within the counties as identified on the Regional Map. This position is eligible for remote work.

In this position, you would be guiding regulated child care facilities with compliance and supporting interactions with children, families and the community.

What you’ll do:

  • Interpret state laws and regulations.
  • Explain state laws and regulations to child care providers and stakeholders.
  • Perform inspections/investigations of child care facilities to ensure state and/or federal compliance is met.
  • Understand and apply policies and procedures, oversight, and fiscal responsibilities.
  • Coordinate and process approvals and assessments of child care licenses, license-exempt facilities, and subsidy providers.
  • Provide technical assistance to child care providers, including informational meetings as needed.
  • Develop and conduct trainings related to state laws and regulations.
  • Ongoing assessment of child care programs through on-site inspections/investigations.
  • Collect and compile information for decision-making, reporting, best practices, and dissemination as related to child development, behavior, and health services.

All you need for success:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 15 earned credit hours in elementary or early education, sociology, psychology, child development, social work, or a closely related field.
  • Two or more years of experience in child care licensing, elementary or early childhood education, social services for children, or experience in the provision of child care in a licensed family or group child care home, or a licensed or license exempt child care center.
