NG Services Company has an immediate opening for a Construction Design Manager (CDM), position at our Dallas, TX location. This position will report to the Manager, Architectural Services & Sustainability.

JOB SUMMARY:

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (not all inclusive):

· Promote products, systems, and brands provided by National Gypsum to key architects and contractors in their assigned sales area(s). Build strong relationships with architects and specifiers to solidify specifications for products provided by National Gypsum during the planning stage.

· Represent Gold Bond, PermaBASE and ProForm products and services during AIA approved architectural presentations and seminars.

· Promote products, systems, and brands provided by National Gypsum to construction departments of major corporations, institutions, and governmental agencies in assigned area(s).

· Develop and conduct, in collaboration with field sales in assigned area(s), a project bidding and tracking program to ensure products provided by National Gypsum are specified on major commercial construction projects.

· Be an active member in key industry associations – AIA, CSI, USGBC,SCIP, etc. – in assigned area(s).

· Monitor competitive technical activity and promotional programs. Evaluate competitive products and prepare written analysis for management when necessary.

· Monitor changes in local/regional building codes, fire ratings, and acoustical requirements to determine possible impact on products provided by National Gypsum. Provide continuing education to code officials on our products, systems and brands.

· Provide training on the Dodge Construction Network and overall project tracking process for newly hired and existing sales associates.

· Collaborate with Marketing on industry research for the potential development of new products, systems and processes.

· Collaborate with Marketing and Research on the testing and evaluation of new product prototypes, reformulated products, fire testing requirements, etc.

· Attend area sales meetings and be an integral member of the field sales team in assigned area(s).

· Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Minimum BS or BA degree, advanced degree, and/or degree in architecture preferred.

· Five years of sales and technical experience in building materials with significant participation with the specification community. Alternative is minimum three years’ experience as an architect or specification writer.

· Excellent verbal and presentation skills with prior experience speaking to groups are key position requirements.

· Clear, concise writing skills are an essential requirement of the position.

· Successful experience working in an unstructured environment such as a home office.

· Established relationships with architects and specifiers in the assigned area(s) are strongly desired and a minimum of seven architectural references must be provided.

· CSI CDT credentials preferred.

· Working knowledge of USGBC’s LEED rating systems with LEED credentials preferred.

· High energy, self-motivated personality.

· Ability to lift heavy boxes, samples, and presentation equipment.

· Ability to travel 40%-60% of the time.
