Thalle is currently seeking an experienced and motivated candidate to fill a Construction Project Engineer position on a 6 Year, $375M (+) USACE Lock and Dam project located on scenic Kentucky Lake in Grand Rivers, Kentucky. This is a full-time on-site position reporting directly to the Project Manager to perform management duties to support the site Operations Team. This role will interact with a variety of staff at all levels and uphold a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.

Job Title: Construction Project Controls Specialist

Overview:

The Construction Project Controls Specialist is responsible for monitoring project performance, schedule and cost indicators. This position reports to, collaborates with, and follows the direction of the Project Manager and Superintendent.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage Cost / Change Control, including change order review, negotiation, recommendations, and delay analysis.
  • Prepare, track and review change orders with Project Manager.
  • Budget Management and Tracking.
  • Invoice / Payment Application processing, tracking and reporting.
  • Manage contractor weekly progress reports.
  • Produce monthly reports for management.
  • Produce earned value reports.
  • Review cost tracking reports.
  • Contract Administration (retention, T&Cs, insurance, allowances, contingency, incentives).
  • On-site records and document control.
  • Tracking of all key project documents, including change orders, invoices and payments, lien releases, etc.
  • Setting and attending change control and cost meetings as required.
  • Monitor, track and analyze schedule progress in the field (actual vs. forecast).
  • Provide weekly and monthly P6 schedule updates and prepare report narrative.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience on heavy civil projects.
  • Proficiency in Primavera CPM scheduling.
  • Proficiency in Viewpoint Construction/Cost Management Software or similar.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work with a fast-paced team in an aggressive construction environment.
  • United States Army Corps of Engineers Projects Experience is preferred.
  • Strong ability to multitask, work independently under pressure, and within tight deadlines.
  • Subject to background check and drug testing.
  • Prior heavy civil site project experience such as water control, dam, levee, concrete, and mass excavation experience.

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to move freely about a construction site that at times present a demanding terrain including, but not limited to climbing of ladders and stair towers, uneven and often wet surfaces, and slopes.
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone.
