The Construction Technician works primarily with the Construction crews and may be required to perform services for other departments within the Beck Suppliers, Inc. company as needed. The Laborer will be conducting site-based construction operations and projects, sharing responsibility with the rest of the project team for the on-time, satisfactory, and safe completion of the project. Laborers may be required to work on unsupervised projects at times and will be expected to work in a manner that conforms to the Beck Suppliers, Inc. employee handbook.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Thoroughly reviews assignments and performs quality construction work as directed.
• Understands the timing and allocated man-hours for assignments and meets or beats the budget.
• Communicate daily with the supervisor regarding project progress and general issues.
• Participates in periodic project review meetings to provide input and feedback.
• Ensures that required field reports are submitted accurately by the established deadlines.
• Requests project materials on an as-needed basis.
• Maintains the job site inventory in a neat and orderly manner.
• Inspects equipment assigned to the job site and rejects defective equipment
• Maintains a clean and safe worksite.
• Participates in the job site safety program and “toolbox talks”.
• Maintains friendly, cooperative relationships with co-workers, subcontractors, engineers, architects, and owners.
• Assists with internal training within the department as needed

Qualifications

• 2+ years of construction field experience
• Must be mechanically inclined and have electrical knowledge.
