The Role:

The CT A assists the Construction Manager (CM) as instructed by the CM. The CM is the third-party construction representative of the Client Project Management team and is the eyes and ears of Client in the field. As such, the CM provides oversight of all construction and on-site tasks performed by third party vendors. The CM coordinates the schedule with the assigned the Client Project Manager (PM) with regard to required site progress, resources required and their mobilization and demobilization and the corrective measures necessary in order to accomplish the work relative to safety, quality, schedule and cost. The CT A will assist the CM in satisfying the above requirements.

This position is specifically for the Martha's Vineyard Submarine Cable Project. Ideally this person filling this position is knowledgeable of HDD construction.

The Essentials:

• 
  Represent Client in all aspects of overseeing contractor construction activities
• Ensure proper focus is placed on environmental permits, policies and procedures
• Monitor project construction schedule and look ahead to anticipate issues and develop corrective actions accordingly
• Attend contractor's meetings such as daily tailboards, safety briefings, environmental and quality meetings
• Work with the assigned Client PM and contractors to develop contingency plans as needed
• Review contractor invoices and schedules
• Notify Client Supervisor, Client PM and BHI Energy FOM of any and all problems or foreseeable issues throughout construction or any complaint presented by the general public
• Coordinate Material delivery between the Client stockroom and Contractor as necessary
• Facilitate resolving construction problems, discrepancies, procedures, and methods by working with the responsible Client PM, Safety, Engineering, Contracts, Materials Management and Contractor
• Minimize Change Orders
• Support the responsible Eversource PM in review of requested Change Orders/Notices or other claims submitted by Contractors which relate to additional payments, schedule adjustments or other modifications to the Project, and make such recommendations to the PM regarding the legitimacy of such claims, and review the Contractor's proposed mitigation plan
• Review and understand the project documentation and any related documentation and provide input to enhance the constructability of the Project, taking into account safety, quality, schedule and cost considerations
• Participate in the construction Kick-off meeting with the responsible Client PM and the contractor(s)
• Review the test protocol, where applicable
• Initiate Transmission outage requests for project work with system operations process
• Identify and track all the project's permits requirements ensuring their compliance and coordinate permit inspections as needed
• Ensure all Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP)/ North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) requirements are maintained throughout project executio

What It's Going to Take:

• 
  Knowledge of HDD construction is desired
• Familiar with transmission line and/or substation construction • Familiar with applicable work practices and procedures, and safety requirements
• Must have good soft skills
• Must have a working knowledge of information technology and the use of Client's office automation and information systems
