Consumer Expert Peer Advisor Job at Greater Nashua Mental Health
We are looking for a Consumer Expert Peer Advisor to join our ProHealth team! This position proactively works with youth and young adults (ages 16 to 35) with Severe Emotional Disturbance (SED) and/or Severe Mental Illness (SMI), to improve health and wellness. This position has an anticipated schedule of 4-hours each week.
The Consumer Expert Peer Advisor will: work with professional medical and mental health providers to give input and feedback about the program content, help give advice about the healthcare services to help young people feel comfortable, meet with the program evaluation team twice yearly to provide feedback on evaluation measures and protocols, particularly with respect to cultural sensitivity, serve on the Advisory Council, attend quarterly meetings with the council, and attend follow-up quarterly meetings with ProHealth site leadership.
Experience with integrated care and/or experience working closely with youth or young adults with SMI or SED is required. Candidates must be: comfortable working with mental health conditions, comfortable presenting, open and sensitive to individuals of varying ethnicities, socio-economic levels, cultures and sexual orientations, and familiar with youth culture.
