Controller Job at Midwest Trading, Inc.
Financial and Accounting
- Responsible for monthly and year-end closing processes
- Creating monthly financial reports, statements, and analysis
- Organizing and leading the annual budgeting process
- Working with outside professionals, such as bankers and auditors
- Recommending and implementing accounting policies and procedures
Administrative
- Hiring, training, leading, motivating and evaluating the department staff (team of 2)
- Managing the invoicing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable functions and processes
- Coordinating intercompany support between Midwest Trading and Midwest Groundcovers
- Managing cash flow through the proper control of check runs and operating line of credit
Strategic and General Management
- Participating in long range business planning
- Achieving the profitability and performance goals of the company
- Developing and training supervisors and management on financial theory and accounting
- Representing the company at industry and related events
Information Technology
- Learning, and building knowledge of the ERP system
- Participating in Company initiatives to implement new technologies
- Participating in the intercompany team that handles IT related projects and initiatives
Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or accounting, CPA preferred
- 5-7 years managing a corporate accounting function and team.
- Privately held or family-owned company experience helpful.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
