WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Enhance the lives and health of our residents for one of our group homes by preparing meals according to an approved menu schedule. Duties at the home including preparing, serving and storing food, washing equipment and dishes, disposing of food wastes, and assisting in the observation and well-being of residents during meal times. Ensure compliance with safety and health procedures for residents and facility.

The successful person in this position enjoys cooking and helping others, particularly individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

WHO WE ARE!

Good Shepherd Manor is a not-for-profit residential campus for over 100 men with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Our wonderful residents make Good Shepherd Manor their home for many years, and enjoy living on our picturesque 60-acre site that includes thirteen modern group homes located 45 minutes south of Chicago just north of Momence, Illinois.

HOURS:

This position follows a three week rotating schedule. Weekday hours are 9:30 am to 5:30 pm and weekend hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or GED is required. Food Safety & Sanitation certification is preferred along with general food preparation skills. On-the-job training is available.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to bend, twist, and extend in a manner conducive to the daily execution of duties in the food service environment. Lift up to 50 pounds unassisted. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time (3-4 hours).
