Job Summary:

  • In the absence of the Food Service Supervisor, the Cook/Supervisor is responsible to assume the role of Food Service Supervisor.
  • Responsible for all meals served during the working shift.
  • Responsible for preparing, cooking, and garnishing all meals served during working shifts.
  • Responsible for supervising all dietary personnel during designated shifts and for evaluating productivity and efficiency of all dietary personnel for the purpose of recommending promotion or other changes in their work status.
  • Responsible for cleaning and sanitation of the Dietary Department during the working shift.
  • Responsible for adherence to menu and special diets.
  • Responsible for counseling all dietary personnel during designated shifts in job-related problems and participating in established grievance procedures.
  • Demonstrate dependability, honesty and industriousness and follows Employee Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Policies.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION:

  • Ability to speak, read, and write English. Ability to follow written and oral directions. A high school diploma or education or experience in food management and preparation is desirable. Must have a ServSafe Certificate or enroll in and pass an approved ServSafe Certification Program within a six month period from date of employment.


  • TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: At least two years of supervision of personnel is required. Should have at least two years experience cooking a variety of food in large quantities and knowledge of required seasoning and characteristics of various meals.
