BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF POSITION : Assumes responsibility for efficiently and effectively preparing hot food items for airline flights.

DESCRIPTION OF JOB DUTIES:

• Cook food from raw to finished state
• Prepares hot food promptly and in compliance with kitchen ready times and flight schedules.

• Cooks a variety of main course (Sauces, Proteins, Starches and Vegetables) items involving long preparation times.
• Assumes responsibility for quality of meals prepared and complies with meal specifications required by airlines.
• Follows airline specification when preparing all food items.
• Works in accordance with FDA and HACCP food handling standards.
• Assist with menu presentation.
• Assist Food Production personnel as needed.
• Assumes other related duties as required

JOBS SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be able to read, write, speak English and poses basic math skills
• Must be able to interpret and comprehend Menu Specifications
• Must be able to prepare stocks, sauces and other food items using standard recipes
• Ability to use various knives and cutlery as well as their specific uses

• Previous working experience in large commercial kitchen
• Practice good personal and food hygiene; understanding of HACCP & USDA Regulations
• Must be flexible to work in a 24/7 environment
• Ability to work in an environment with varying temperatures
• Ability to walk, stoop, bend, bend, reach , and stand for 8 hours a day as required

• Ability to push/pull 70 lbs. daily as required
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. as required
• Must have strong analytical, verbal, written, and interpersonal , organizational skills and be adaptable to frequent changes'
